Waves is aiming at bringing a blockchain technology to the masses. We think that open blockchains are production ready, there are already many use cases which should be developed, and in the light of the current permissioned blockchains development we think it’s very important to offer some open blockchain solution to financial services. Our approach can be summarized in our motto – “WAVES – Blockchain for the people”

We use the gateway idea from Ripple, but we have a totally different blockchain tech. Consensus based tech used in Ripple is prone to Byzantine attacks,
thus it suffers from excessive centralization. Our advantage is open blockchain, secured by a sufficient number of full-nodes.
