First of all, thanks everyone for the support. vDice is just shy of processing 50,000 bets and just passed 10,000 ETH in prizes.
vDice has been processing bets, uninterrupted, on the Ethereum main network, for over 1 year now. Such Wow.

We are humbled by this success so early in the Ethereum story.

Now it’s time to take it to the next level.

With that, I am pleased to advise that the game code for the 1st game on vDice Dapps section (vDapps) is complete.
A big thank you to all collaborators (you know who you are).

We have delivered a few key, cutting-edge, features in a solid way.
As a result we believe we have set a damn good benchmark and standard for everyone else to follow.

As you will notice, this is a slot machine.

(IMPORTANT! : this code is only using WolframAlpha data-source as a compatible place-holder to replicate the same high-level behaviour. The new code implementing the correct datasource will follow next week).

vDice, as a project, lives in an ecosystem.
We rely on others in the ecosystem. They in turn also rely on us.

It means we also have to grow with the ecosystem, in a measured way, to ensure we release quality games that bring value but also security.

We felt that a slot machine was the best way to achieve this. It ticked all the boxes.

We had a few more advanced ideas. But the ecosystem, oracle infrastructure, etc. just isn’t there yet. It’s too early.
But the good news is that, the Ethereum ecosystem is growing quickly. And it won’t be long. We’ve already started working on the next game.

This is not the official announcement. This is a preliminary announcement for our fans in here.
We will be making the official announcement shortly, via our blog, medium, etc., in the usual fashion.

The official announcement is waiting on 3 key things:

1) Random Datasource.
This game relies on a random datasource.
There is a key piece of infrastructure being finished off on that side. We are under NDA and can’t discuss further details.
But it will be done in the coming weeks with an official public announcement.

2) External Audit:
We have Peter Vessenes and his team doing the main code audit. This is currently under way.
As soon as that is received we will also publish into the public domain for review.

3) Final Testing:
There is still some bug testing to be done internally.
